Inspired by old traditions and cultures, archeological finds and universal symbols, I travel the world, gathering ideas and bringing them up to date into todays crazy, fast and furious world. I seek for the relevancy of them in an age when handmade slow making craftsmanship can be seen as a radical act.
These clay goblets are a series of one of a kind handmade wine glasses. it can be used as a goblet/ a candle holder/ a copalera for incense or a rustic decorative object. It is made wanky and uneven intentionally.
Decorated with a little hand in the center representing good luck and keeping away evil spirits, and different motifs like crescent moon, tear drop, stars… each one telling a different but similar story.
It is shaped and formed from red doted clay and glazed with white matt glaze.
Elements decorated with real gold also fired in the ceramic kiln and is part of the mug (wont come off).
Fired to 1200 degrees celsius in a ceramic kiln, these mugs will basically last forever.
